Section 1
A body with pain
Every reader has been here.
A body with pain.
The pain is a signal. Something inside the body has moved out of the range it can run in. You go looking for medicine.
Two questions come with it. Where should the help begin? And what should it do?
Every reader has been here. The pain may be sharp or slow. New or old. Named, or not yet named. Either way, the body has noticed that something is no longer running the way it should.
This chapter says what medicine is. In one line: medicine is what the larger structure around a body does, at the lowest level that works, to keep that body’s corridor open. The corridor is the range of states your body can keep running in.
There are five levels of help. The most expensive medicine is the one that accommodates the most. The most efficient medicine is the one that intrudes the least.
A civilisation that builds its medicine around the most expensive level, while it withholds the cheapest, is structurally incoherent. It works against itself. The geometry says so.
This is the first of five chapters about the body. This one is about keeping a body running. Four more follow. Editing a body before its person can choose. Authority over your own mind. Extending a body. The end of life. The test set up here runs through all five.
This chapter stands on the one interior: the awareness in me is the awareness in you. The full argument is in Ø Dissolutions, Chapter Six. The page One Awareness on the wall is about it alone: the420code.org/one-awareness/
